With this topcoat you will reach an unprecedented high gloss finish in which you can mirror yourself!
Liquid Kicks High Gloss Finish is a professional, highly elastic, super high gloss topcoat.
What is special about this protective coating is that it is extremely elastic and does not crack or become brittle, for example, when you wear a shoe.
On patent leather shoes, stretching and squeezing creases usually become visible within a very short time. LK High Gloss Finish puts an end to this!
The brand Liquid Kicks is the top finish standard in the sneaker scene!
LK Top-Coats from the USA are considered the highest quality and most flexible topcoats for many materials. Liquid Kicks High Gloss Finish can be used as a protective coating on most surfaces.
The manufacturer recommends this finish for leather, vinyle, PVC, canvas, cotton and silk (the product has already been tested very successfully on these materials).
LK Finishes are extremely scratch proof, UV resistant, waterproof and chemical resistant.
With these products you can be sure that the paint underneath will not peel, lift, crack or fade and always look good!
With Liquid Kicks High Gloss Finish you can coat any surface on which an acrylic coating would also last. If the finish rolls off it will not protect the surface completely. Use another product on these surfaces.
Liquid Kicks Finishes are not only popular with sneaker artists but also in the costume sector - the Cosplay community in particular cannot do without these surface looks any more.
Through the extreme stretchability and flexibility of the coating, this finish is also suitable for furniture like sofas and armchairs.
Use Liquid Kicks products in the future - you will be thrilled!
This is how you use Liquid Kicks - High Gloss Finish
Important: High Gloss must be applied in 3 wet coats and dry completely between applications of the coats.
We recommend to allow each coat to air dry for 10 minutes and then to finish the drying process with a hair dryer.
This air dry time is essential so that the topcoat can flow out and form a smooth film with the highest possible gloss level.
Drying too quickly will cause the film to form an uneven surface and the gloss level will drop.
LK Top Coats are top finishes from high performance acryl-hybrid-polyurethane water based resins designed for use on leather and canvas. All LK products are manufactured by Liquid Kicks themselves under very strict quality controls in Harrah (Oklahoma).
Preparation:
Before application of the Top Finish, the paints should be completely dry.
You can dry the surface with a hair dryer or a heat gun at a maximum temperature of 170º C.
Allow the surface to cool before you apply the topcoat.
Application of the top coat:
LK High Gloss Top Coats have to be applied in 3 coats with a soft paint brush.
Apply only a thin layer at a time.
Professionals can airbrush the top coat with a nozzle size between 0,2 mm and 0,7 mm and an air pressure between 25 psi and 35 psi. Apply LK Top-Coat directly on the surface with the airbrush from a distance of 10 to 15 cm or with a spray gun from a distance of 10 to 20 cm. Apply the topcoat in even layers, working from left to right and from top to bottom, overlapping each previous spray line to create medium wet layers. Be sure to allow each layer to dry before starting the next one.
Drying:
Air drying takes 35 to 50 minutes, depending on ambient temperature and air humidity.
After at least 10 minutes of air drying you can easily finish the drying of the High Gloss Top Coat with a hair dryer. Drying with the hair dryer should not exceed 10 minutes.
Once completely dry, LK Top Coats can immediately be used, however, full performance (chemical and scratch resistance) is only achieved after 12 hours of curing at room temperature (21° C).
Processing time:
Like every water based coating, LK Top Coats should be applied quickly.
Curing begins as soon as the product is poured into an open container such as an airbrush cup or a mixing cup. A test showed that the product in a 3,7ml (1/8 fl.oz.) airbrush cup could be used for 2 hours at 21° C bevor the performance was affected.
In a similar test, the product in a 470ml (16 fl.oz) cup was usable for 6 hours.
To extend the shelf life of the top coat in the cup, store unused portions closed with a lid.
Under normal conditions, the shelf life of unopened bottles of LK Top Coat is longer than 1 year.
Coverage:
A 59ml (2 oz.) bottle coats more than 10 pairs of shoes or a leather chair.
Coverage on canvas depends on the type and size of the canvas.
Storage:
Store the product at temperatures between 10 and 25º C and keep it away from direct sunlight to avoid oxidation. Long term exposure to temperatures above 50° C and below 0° C may result in loss of product performance.
Keep the lid on the bottles closed to prevent drying out.
Cleaning of tools:
Clean all tools immediately with water or acetone. Cleaning of dried top coats requires harsh solvents such as MEK thinners or volatile paint strippers.
Clean your airbrush or spray gun immediately after use from all traces of the finish to prevent the product from drying inside the case, causing a blockage that is difficult to remove! Rinse until the cleaner is no longer tinted by the topcoat (whitish colouring).
Selling unit: 1 piece (59ml/2oz or 118ml/4oz)
