Jacquard Neopaque Flowable Extender: more transparency, same adhesion
Sometimes the paint should not cover everything, but let the underlying surface shine through.
Diluted with water, however, it loses adhesion and becomes watery.
The Neopaque Flowable Extender makes Neopaque and Lumiere more transparent without changing texture, consistency or adhesion.
This lets you paint glazes, soft transitions and delicate shimmer effects.
And as a binder it turns pigment powder into your very own colour.

Transparency as desired
The more extender you add to the paint, the more transparent it becomes. Mix in small steps and test on a scrap of fabric.
Your own colours from pigments
Jacquard recommends the Neopaque Extender as a binder for Pearl Ex pigments. In the same way you can bind any non-water-soluble pigment with it and make your own metallic, pearlescent or special colours that hold on fabric, leather and many other surfaces.

Jacquard Neopaque Flowable Extender: Instructions
1. Making paint more transparent
1. Put Neopaque or Lumiere into a clean container.
2. Stir in the extender in small amounts until the desired transparency is reached.
3. Test the mixture on a scrap of fabric.
4. Paint and let dry as usual. The mixture fixes itself after about 4 days.
2. Binding pigments
1. Put some extender into a container.
2. Stir in the pigment powder little by little until the paint has the desired opacity.
3. Test the mixture on the desired surface.
Wear a dust mask when working with pigment powder.

Why not just water?
Water dilutes the paint and reduces its adhesion. The extender makes it more transparent without losing adhesion and consistency.
Does it also work with other paints?
It is made for Neopaque and Lumiere and as a binder for pigments.
Do I have to fix the mixture?
No, like Neopaque it fixes itself after about 4 days.
