Fiebing's Leather Dye - the best-known alcohol-based dye
Dyeing leather (dyeing or redyeing) is very easy with this leather dye.
Fiebing's Leather Dye is the most recognized penetrating, alcohol-based leather dye worldwide.
The dye penetrates deeply and mixes easily to create beautiful middle tones.
Colour coverage and colour intensity
The colour coverage varies according to tanning method and leather absorbency. The slower the colour is applied, and the more is used, the deeper it penetrates and the darker the result.
To enhance the colour or to give it a more luscious and natural look, we recommend further treatment with Antique Leather Stain or Antique Finish.
As these leather dyes are not completely light fast, some tend to fade out a little. As an alternative, we suggest Professional Oil Dye, which is lightfast!
Proper dyeing and sealing leather
To dye greater surfaces using a sponge, sheepskin or the airbrush is best.
If you wish to varnish the leather, (for instance with Fiebing's Resolene) we recommend you allow the leather to dry completely for a couple of days after dyeing, and then polish the excess pigments thoroughly off with a soft cloth.
Please note
The leather dyes have been specially developed for untreated leather. This means that certain colour shades look different on brownish leather than on very light or white leather. Green or beige on white leather turn out more bluish or yellowish in the result. Please take this into account and mix the leather dyes before applying.
All the dyes, especially yellow, blue and green, tend to leak a little when shipped. Only a few milliliter though, as we pack them separately.
Unfortunately the seal does not work correctly with Fiebing's Leather Dyes. This is a well known problem for which we regret we cannot offer a solution.

How much leather dye do I need?
We can't answer that question 100% as we do not know your shoes, boots, saddles, jackets, bags etc. and do not know how dye hungry your leather is either. Different leathers (old or new plays a role too) absorb different amounts of liquid.

That sounds complicated - but it is not!
This leather dye is used for undyed and untreated vegetable tanned leather in leather craft.
It may not be suitable for treated leather of factory made bags, purses, table tops, car seats, leather furniture, leather clothing, etc. as most of the time these items are pre-dyed and have a protective coating that will prevent the dye from penetrating.
That is why we recommend you make a test beforehand to find out whether the dye is suitable for pre-treated or chrome-tanned leather:
• Cleanse the leather you want to dye thoroughly with a leather cleansing product and place a drop of water on it (rubbing a little).
• If the leather absorbs water, the dye may be suitable.
• Please note that we cannot guarantee for the result if your leather is not vegetable tanned. We recommend you contact the manufacturer for further information.
Always test the dye on an inconspicuous spot or an a small piece of leather scrap for suitability before going for a whole project.

Beizen von Hölzern
Lieferung war schnell und sicher, und das zu einem fairen Preis. Gerne wieder. Fiebing`s Leather Dye lässt sich auch hervorragend zum beizen von Hölzern wie etwa Riegelahorn verwenden .

Voll genial
Ein uralter Ledersessel, der nach einem Wasserschaden echt hässlich, aber bequem war. Entsorgen oder ein paar Euro investieren und ihn retten? Einen Versuch wars wert. Das Lederfauteuil war einst türkis. Nach dem Wasserschaden nach Jahren hatte es die Farbe von graugrünem Schimmel. Wir haben Aqua Green und Leather Finish bestellt. Der Sessel schaut jetzt hammermäßig aus. Das Leder hat die Farbe, aufgrund der Abnützung, nicht überall gleichmäßig angenommen, aber das stört nicht. 1 Liter hat gereicht. 1 x überall ordentlich aufgetragen. Unbedingt Schutzhandschuhe tragen. Die Farbe hält echt gut! Wir haben auch 2 x Farbe zum Wäsche färben gekauft, aber noch nicht getestet. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Und danke für die Naschsachen 😀.

Schnell und sehr gut verpackt
Die Fläschchen waren 1. Superschnell da und 2. Perfekt verpackt. Das die Farbe der Hammer ist, brauch ich glaube ich nicht zu schreiben, aber bei Patin-A würd ich sie und werde ich sie auch das nächste mal kaufen.

Lederfarben von fibings
Ich habe schon verschiedene Fibings Fraben gekauft und bin immer wieder gegeistert. Sie sind für meine Zwecke Western bestens geeignet. Oxblut und Walnuß sind meine Favoriten.
