Fiebing's Leather Dye - the best-known alcohol-based dye
Dyeing leather (dyeing or redyeing) is very easy with this leather dye.
Fiebing's Leather Dye is the most recognized penetrating, alcohol-based leather dye worldwide.
The dye penetrates deeply and mixes easily to create beautiful middle tones.
Colour coverage and colour intensity
The colour coverage varies according to tanning method and leather absorbency. The slower the colour is applied, and the more is used, the deeper it penetrates and the darker the result.
To enhance the colour or to give it a more luscious and natural look, we recommend further treatment with Antique Leather Stain or Antique Finish.
As these leather dyes are not completely light fast, some tend to fade out a little. As an alternative, we suggest Professional Oil Dye, which is lightfast!
Proper dyeing and sealing leather
To dye greater surfaces using a sponge, sheepskin or the airbrush is best.
If you wish to varnish the leather, (for instance with Fiebing's Resolene) we recommend you allow the leather to dry completely for a couple of days after dyeing, and then polish the excess pigments thoroughly off with a soft cloth.
Please note
The leather dyes have been specially developed for untreated leather. This means that certain colour shades look different on brownish leather than on very light or white leather. Green or beige on white leather turn out more bluish or yellowish in the result. Please take this into account and mix the leather dyes before applying.
All the dyes, especially yellow, blue and green, tend to leak a little when shipped. Only a few milliliter though, as we pack them separately.
Unfortunately the seal does not work correctly with Fiebing's Leather Dyes. This is a well known problem for which we regret we cannot offer a solution.

How much leather dye do I need?
We can't answer that question 100% as we do not know your shoes, boots, saddles, jackets, bags etc. and do not know how dye hungry your leather is either. Different leathers (old or new plays a role too) absorb different amounts of liquid.
You can find out the required amount yourself:
Take exactly one liter of water and a fine-pored sponge. Rub thoroughly over the desired item as if dyeing it. After 'dyeing', check the used amount of water: For that purpose, pour the remaining amount of water in a measuring beaker and subtract it from one liter. The difference is the dye amount for one dye (e.g. there are 650 ml left in the beaker = 350 ml is the required amount of dye).
But as you have to dye twice you need to double the amount of dye.
That sounds complicated - but it is not!
You may also save a little dye that way or you can buy right away the exact amount needed for a perfect dye.
This leather dye is used for undyed and untreated vegetable tanned leather in leather craft.
It may not be suitable for treated leather of factory made bags, purses, table tops, car seats, leather furniture, leather clothing, etc. as most of the time these items are pre-dyed and have a protective coating that will prevent the dye from penetrating.
That is why we recommend you make a test beforehand to find out whether the dye is suitable for pre-treated or chrome-tanned leather:
• Cleanse the leather you want to dye thoroughly with a leather cleansing product and place a drop of water on it (rubbing a little).
• If the leather absorbs water, the dye may be suitable.
• Please note that we cannot guarantee for the result if your leather is not vegetable tanned. We recommend you contact the manufacturer for further information.
Always test the dye on an inconspicuous spot or an a small piece of leather scrap for suitability before going for a whole project.

Top Ware und Lieferung!!
Ich habe vor längerer Zeit mit Fiebing´s Oil Dye mein Ledersofa umgefärbt mit mäßigem Erfolg, weil nach dem Einfetten ein leichtes Abfärben zu verzeichnen war.
Nun wollte ich eine Ledertasche in der Färbung auffrischen und habe im Netz nach Fiebings gesucht. Das optische Ausehen der Flasche und Farbangebot hat mich dann zum Kauf veranlasst.
Ich habe die Tasche gefärbt und erst nach getaner Arbeit genauer auf das Etikett geachtet und festgestellt, dass ich Leather Dye statt Oil Dye erhalten habe.
Das Versehen von mir war aber Gold wert!!! Bei Abriebversuchen habe ich festgestellt, dass Leather Dye weit besser für das Umfärben geeignet ist als Oil Dye.
Man sollte gut aufpassen beim Auftragen, um ander Gegenstände nicht mit Leather Dye zu benetzen. Selbst in der Spülmaschine und mit Lösungsmitteln war z.B. an einem Messer der Farbauftrag kaum zu entfernen.
Leather Dye ist auch ein erstaulich gutes Produkt zum Holz Einfärben bzw. Beizen.

Lederfarbe und Lederfinish-Produktkauf
Ich habe bei PATIN_A Produkte zur Veredelung von ungegerbtem Rohleder gekauft, um meine Punzierarbeiten wetterfest und somit "outdoor" nutzbar zu machen.
Im Vorfeld meiner Bestellung habe ich bei den einschlägigen Online-Vertrieben und in Fachgeschäften entsprechende Preisvergleiche und Produktinformtionen eingeholt.
Schlußendlich habe ich meinen Einkauf online bei PATIN-A getätigt, da die von mir benötigten Produkte hier das beste Preis / Leistungsverhältnis hatten und die Versandkosten in üblicher Weise moderat und angemessen sind. Sehr überzeugt, leider beim Onlinekauf immer noch nicht die Regel, hat mich (A) die schnelle und unkomplizierte Bestellabwicklung sowie (B) die Möglichkeit (Infomail) den Versandvorgang per Sendungsverfolgung einsehen zu können.
Hierfür möchte ich mich beim Team von PATIN-A sehr bedanken. Die Lieferung / Versand erfolgte fristgemäß, wie vom Verkäufer zugesagt und die Verpackung der Produkte waren angemessen und ausreichend. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden, auch mit der Art der Kontaktaufnahme durch PATIN-A selbst und kann hier nur ein dickes DAUMEN HOCH und vielen Dank als Bewertung geben.

I asked if I could change the color of the dye right after ordering and the order was modified, immediately and easily, the customer service was great. A few days later I received my order as planned.
After cleaning the sofas, I applied the dye onto my old sofas who's color had completely faded. It took a while to re-dye the sofas and the result is Amazing!!!!
They are as new. I am Thrilled with the service and product I got from Patin-a.

Färbung Lederjacke
Habe lange überlegt ob ich es wage, meine Lederjacke (Fehlkauf in der Farbe) selbst umzufärben. Habe mich dann entschieden die Lederfarbe von Fiebels auszuprobieren und diese bei Patin-A bestellt.
Ware war megaschnell da. Leider keine genaue Gebrauchsanweisung! (Sollte man vlt mal mitschicken)
Aber dafür findet man dank you Tube einige im Internet. Habe wirklich ein supertolles Ergebnis damit erzielt und somit eine neue Jacke erhalten. Danke!

Meens is ne alte Ledertasche von Omma. Dit arme Ding is nu mittlerweile in die Jahre jekommen und verbringt seine staubije Pension irjendwo in der Ecke meinet Kellas.
