Small Dye Sponge (Make-Up Sponge)
The allrounder sponge for leather dyeing and patinating
These high quality make-up sponges were originally developed for make-up artists, but can be used for a number of jobs.
We recommend this sponge for applying PATIN-A products, Aquacolor products as well as for staining and patinating leather. Its fine pores and rounded shape prevent unwanted streaking on the patinated or stained material. The edges are perfectly suited for treating small surfaces.

What should I keep in mind for leather dyeing with a sponge?
Apply leather dye with the sponge in even, circular motions. Please refrain from merely daubing on the paint, but start from one edge, and swiftly work yourself through to the other by using overlapping circular movements.
The sponges are good for 2-3 applications, before they dissolve. But until then they do a great job with large surfaces as well as smaller items.
Please do not worry if the initial result is not perfect! You can go in and touch up patchy spots by dabbing on colour with the edge of the sponge.
The right amount of dye is essential
Careful about the amount of dye! One advantage of the dye sponge is that it becomes soaked quickly and takes up a lot of dye. But be careful about puddles building up on the leather! The sponges take up less dye when dipped in for the first time than for the second or third time.
Please make sure to use rubber gloves during the staining process!
How can I reach a darker leather dye result?
If you are aiming for a darker result, please apply two to three lighter consecutive coats instead of going in with one heavy application. It will be easier this way for you to touch up possible irregularities.

Handliche Schwämme
Die Schminkschwämme nutzen wir für verschiedenste Arbeiten: zum Patinieren und zum Lederfärben. Sie sind sehr weich und man kann sie ausgesprochen gut zwischen den Fingern halten. Ich finde es gibt keine besseren Schwämme zum färben und patinieren.

Der beste Schwamm zum Lederfärben
Das sind meine liebsten Hilfsmittel zum Lederfärben! Da die rosa Schwämme eigentlich für MakeUp gemacht wurden, sind sie unglaublich weich und können in jede Rundung und Falte ganz leicht gedrückt werden. Auch die Größe ist super - sie lassen sich zu einer Kugel formen und haben trotzdem auch eine harte Kante für gerade Nähte etc. Ich finde, dass mit diesen Schwämmchen das Färben sehr viel leichter von der Hand geht, als mit den herkömmlichen, auf dem Markt befindlichen Schwämmen.
