Gorgeous leather edges with the edge beveler
The edge beveler is the perfect tool for rounding belt edges and beveling all sorts of leather edges. It takes just a few minutes to bevel the cut edges of your leather piece - the first step towards beautiful and smooth leather edges.
Through beveling you will not only improve the look of your leather piece but buffing will also become much easier.
Bevel - buff - seal
Moisten the leather a little, then start on one side of the leather and push (don’t pull!) the edge beveler along the edge of your leather piece. That way you will bevel off some leather and the edge will become round. Proceed the same way along the bottom side of the leather.
Now moisten the edge again with a wet sponge, let the water soak in a little and burnish the belt edge with a wood slicker a few times to obtain a beautiful smooth edge.
Once the leather is dry, it is very important to seal it, e.g. with Fiebing’s Edge Kote. Just dab the finish with a wool dauber on the leather edge. The result will be a beautiful, clean and durable edge.
Tips and recommendations
Edge bevelers come in different sizes, and you can pick the right one according to the thickness of your leather.
This one is meant for leather with low material thickness.
Like other frequently used tools, edge bevelers should be sharpened on a regular basis. We recommend you use sand paper grain size 800.
