A massive block-shaped leather plane
This adjustable V-Gouge is a die cast block and leather crafters find it easy to handle.
The cut depth can be adapted and this model is mostly used for creating folds. Thanks to the precise knife, you will get a sharp fold, even with heavy leather.
Hiding seams becomes child’s play too with the V-Gouge.
Perfect folds
Depending for which task this V-Gouge is used, you can determine the depth of the cut. This is just a matter of turning the little wheel on top of the tool.
The depth of the fold should be approximately half the leather thickness so that the leather piece can be fold down easily. If you have never used a V-Gouge before, do a test cut on a piece of scrap leather with the same thickness.
Beautiful, detailed decorations
The die cast V-Gouge is also the right tool for creating beautiful decoration lines and complex patterns on the leather.
A pre-traced guide line makes working with the V-Gouge a lot easier. For detailed patterns though you may need a little practice.
For straight lines it is a good idea to use a metal ruler as an aid and push the V-Gouge along it.
