Sewing leather the easy way
This wonderful sewing awl is the perfect little helper to prick or widen holes in leather with its pointed needle. Through the spool fixed in the tool, this awl is no longer a simple pricking awl but a useful sewing tool.
Before sewing
Before you start sewing or pricking holes, old or dry leather should always be soaked in water. This softens the leather and makes sewing much easier.
A little wrench is included in the kit, along with two thick needles specially designed for leather and the fixed spool. You can use the wrench to open and close the upper part of the awl to clamp the desired needle strongly in or exchange it. It can also open the screw holding the spool if you want to use another colour. The needle should always be positioned so that the eye shows towards the spool to make threading easier.
