Neat leather seams with these chisels
These three diamond stitching chisels are special tools for punching stitching holes. The prongs are longish like for the other chisels, but are tapered, so that it is easy to punch precise little holes for neat seams.
Specifically for lacing holes, we carry four different lacing chisels in the PATIN-A range.
The right use
Like for all other chisels, never use a metal hammer for striking. It could ruin your chisel. Special embossing mallets though reduce the impact and leave your tool undamaged.
For a straight and even seam, start with a groover and draw a slight line into the leather. Using the diamond stitching chisel, you can then punch neat seam holes into the groove.
