Practical and handy - the perfect little sole ruffer
A sole ruffer should not be missing from any costume distressing kit.
This distressing brush is very well suited for quickly roughening or destroying firm fabrics and leather goods.
Its original purpose was to roughen adhesive surfaces (at the shoemaker's) or to roughen chrome leather soles in dance sports (shoe scratch brush). It's a very popular tool in the costume department.
No more slipping when dancing
If your dance shoes slip, the soles should be roughened urgently:
• Place the shoes soles up on a table or hold them between your thighs (caution: you can easily get dirty - or damage your trousers...)
• Start in the middle of the sole, exerting pressure on the brush, and pull it outwards with a slight swing. Always pull from the inside (middle of the sole) to the outside. If you start on the outside, you may damage the sole or the upper leather.
• Repeat the process until the chrome leather sole is beautifully roughened.
