Why these dye sponges?
Fiebing's recommends this sponge for applying leather dyes, leather finishes and leather patination products.
They're also very good for leather cleaning with Saddle Soap.
Their fine pores and rounded shape prevent unwanted streaking on the patinated material.
Fiebing's has designed these sponges for leather crafters.
Leather dyeing and finishing with the sponge:
• Apply leather dye with this sponge in even, circular movements. Please refrain from merely daubing on the paint, but start from one edge, and quickly work yourself through to the other by using overlapping circular movements.
• The sponges do a great job with larger surfaces as well as smaller items. For the latter, make sure to use the edge of the sponge.
• If there are irregularities, you can touch up a little dye on the leather with the edge.
• Keep in mind: the leather needs two applications for a covering and even surface.
• Be careful with the amount of dye! The sponge soaks up a lot of product, which can cause wet spots on the leather.
• These sponges are also perfectly well suited for finishing.
Hint:
• Sponges can be divided very well with scissors to carry out fine dyeing work.
• If you are aiming for a darker result, please apply two to three consecutive coats. It will be easier this way for you to prevent irregularities.
• Please make sure to use rubber gloves during the staining process - otherwise your skin will become the same colour than the leather piece you're treating!
• The sponges are chemical free and have a great absorption power.

Färbeschwamm

Sehr gut
Ich habe schon öfters Möbel gefärbt. Das funktioniert ganz wunderbar mit der Fiebings Pro Dye. Allerdings habe ich nicht gewußt wie wichtig das richtige Schwämmchen sein kann.
Bisher habe ich immer "Glitzi-Schwämme" genommen (natürlich nur die gelbe Seite). Damit funktioniert es auch, aber nicht so gut.
Von einem Kollegen wurden mir diese Schwämme empfohlen und ich werde nie wieder mit einem anderen Schwamm färben.

Perfekt zum Lederfärben
Die Form und die Struktur des Schwammes sind ideal um Leder zu färben. Mit den abgerundeten Rändern kommt man sehr gut auch in schlecht zugängliche Stellen.
Ich kann den Schwamm jedem der Leder färben oder finishen möchte empfehlen!

Simply give great results
When I decided I was going to get serious with my leather painting/dying (whatever you want to call it) hobby I also decided I would splash out on the known-brand sponges. I thought they would be of good quality and there I was not disappointed. They do the job fantastically and you can get some really nice effects.
