Which amount of water softener do I need? 

Dyeing in a pot:
For dyeing in a pot, take 5g per litre of water (corresponds to: 1 Teaspoon/TSP)

Dyeing in the washing machine / or washing machine load:
• Per washing machine load of a modern machine (with water saving function), calculate 70g water softener powder (corresponds to: 14 TSP = 1/3 Cup)
• For older machines (bought before 2014 / or without water saving function), calculate 130g water softener powder (corresponds to: 26 TSP = 1/2 cup + 1TSP)
• If you do not know the machine, take 150g water softener (corresponds to: 26 TSP = 1/2 cup + 1TSP)
-> This information applies to European washing machines. US top-loaders require 1 Cup of powder.

For measuring, we recommend to use the US Measuring Spoon & Measuring Cup Set (TSP / Cup), that makes it easier to weigh out the quantities than with a gram scale.
