Until 50 years ago no gentleman (and no lady!) with a little self-respect would walk out on the streets without covering their head with a hat.
That is why in historical films one works a lot with different types of hats in order to dress the actors and extras in the right style. All hats have one thing in common: they have to be measured first!
Hat Sizers therefore belong in every costume department. We now carry hat sizers in two sizes in our range: 49 - 62cm or 57 - 70cm.
The useful tool
Thanks to the PATIN-A hat sizer, measuring hats and caps is a breeze. Either with the small 49 - 62cm hat sizer or with its big brother with measuring units 57 - 70cm. Lay the hat sizer into the hat (the measuring scale showing towards you) and stretch the silver ring using the shear function.
Through pressing together of the handle openings the ring can be widened and adjusted exactly to the inner rim of the hat.
The red metal tip shows you the exact hat size on the scale.
Working together in international productions
This hat sizing tool has four scales (49cm - 62cm or 57cm - 70cm), showing the most common hat sizes. That makes it easy for you and your international colleagues to easily find the right hat sizes. In addition to centimeters, the sizes can also be read in inches. English and French sizes also show on the scale.
Why does the hat sizer come in two different sizes?
• 49 - 62cm is the average ladies' und men's head size.
• 57 - 70cm is perfect for normal to very large men's heads.
How to recognise the correct measurement unit:
• E = Inches (for ex. USA)
• F = French unit of measurement
• CM = Centimeter
• A = English unit of measurement
The hat sizing tool is sold without hat (decoration).

Super für den Fundus
Bestimmte Produkte sollte man einfach in seinem Fundus haben und ein Hutmessgerät ist sicher eines davon. Wir bestellen regelmäßig hier im Shop und haben neulich auch das Hutmass bestellt. Es ist wirklich ein gutes Modell, tolle Qualität und verschiedene Einheiten zum Ablesen der Größe. Man ist echt verwundert, wie unterschiedlich und perfekt die Hüte dann auch passen, kennt man erstmal seine eigene Hutgröße und hat den richtigen Hut zur Hand. Wir konnten nun erstmal ausmessen und sortieren. Das war eine prima Anschaffung!

Eine große Hilfe
Beim unserer letzten Produktion hatten wir Hüte in Massen und haben uns dafür extra das Hutmessgerät angeschafft. Es war die Anschaffung auf jeden Fall wert! In den meisten Hüten ist nämlich tatsächlich keine Größenbezeichnung und wir hatten am Anfang so viel Ärger, weil niemand viel Erfahrung in dem Bereich hatte. Obwohl wir im Ausland gedreht haben, wars schon nach zwei Tagen hier. Vielen Dank!
