Circle Edge Slicker - Edge Smoother (Nylon)
Smooth leather edges and make them shine
Give belts, straps and other leather items that perfect look through a beautiful, smooth edge.
This edge slicker with its U shaped groove makes the edge of your leather piece soft and slick. Depending on the pressure you exert with the edge slicker and on the duration you can achieve different degrees of smoothing of your creation.
Smoothing is even easier with a drill
This edge smoother can not only be used by hand but also works if you mount it on a drill or, even better, on a cordless screwdriver. All you need is a 6mm screw that fits through the hole of the edge slicker and a nut to hold the screw. The screw will then slightly be fixed in the drill chuck.
Please make sure to work slowly and carefully when using a drill and work only at low or medium speed.
Tips and tricks
Before starting to smooth, both with a drill or by hand, you should moisten the edge of your leather item so that the leather will be easier to work on.
As an additional smoothing agent we recommend Gum Tragacanth by Fiebing’s which will make your edges clear, smooth, shiny and extremely resistant.
