ROC Carnauba Wax is a very hard wax and therefore perfectly suitable as edge protection or finish.
Professionals in the leather trade swear by this highly transparent toxin-free and environmentally friendly vegetable wax.
Carnauba wax is strongly water repellent and suitable for use on leather, suede and wood.
Carnauba wax does not clog the natural pores of the leather, allowing it to breathe.
The Brazilian carnauba palm (Copernicia prunifera) provides the Carnauba wax. To protect the leaves from evaporation, they are covered on both sides with a powdery wax layer.
The wax is obtained by drying and splitting the leaves lengthwise. The majority of the wax will then already loosen by itself. The rest is obtained by scraping, tapping and brushing. About five grams of wax are obtained from one leave.
When raw, Carnauba wax has a yellow or yellow-greenish to dark grey colour. It is the hardest of the natural waxes, i.e. waxes of animal or plant origin. The melting point of Carnauba wax is at 80-87°C and that is very high for a natural wax. When melting, the wax develops a characteristic hay-like scent.
Carnauba wax is used in the food and cosmetics industry (e.g. as additive for lip sticks, creams and soaps) and in medicines.
Shoe polishes, care and cleaning products for furniture and cars are often mixed with Carnauba wax to achieve a more beautiful shine.
Carnauba wax is also used as ski wax, polishing agent for wood and wood turning works and is also very good as leather finish or for leather care.
We carry the pure Carnauba wax by ROC from Denmark in 60 gram bars.
