How does Tie Dye Batik work?
Please watch the Video or read carefully the detailed instructions in our blog.
Here is a short overview:
1. Lay the textiles for approx.10 to 20 minutes in a salt/reactive fixative bath and wring them out.
2. Tie up the wet textiles with string or turn them into spirals and fix them with rubber bands.
3. Fill content of the dye sachets into the squeeze bottles. Half fill the squeeze bottles with warm water, close the bottle and shake well until the dye has completely dissolved. Then fill the bottle up with water and cut the nozzle off.
4. Spray dye on parts of the tied up textile front and back.
5. Put textile in ziploc bag and close it. Leave the dyed textile for 24 - better 36 hours in the plastic bag.
6. The next day: remove ties or rubber bands and rinse textile under running water.
7. Wash with mild detergent or Prosapol and let dry.
What is the content of the kit?
• 6 sachets of DEKA aktuell Textile Dye: Lemon / Tangerine / Hibiscus / Amethyst / Royal / Emerald (yellow / orange / red / purple / blue / green)
• 100g of reactive agent
• 4 x 500ml Tie Dye squeeze bottles
• approx. 50 rubber bands
• 500ml dye salt
• 15 Ziploc bags
• 4 pairs of latex gloves (Mix: S/M/L/XL)

What amounts can I dye?
It depends on the 'dyer'. The less you spill the more you can dye with the Tie Dye Batik Kit. The dyes are very effective and you only need very little for one t-shirt.
With this kit you can dye approx. 25 children's or 15 adults t-shirts or a lot of scarves or bed linen.
If there is dye left, close the squeeze bottle and use it within a month.
You cannot keep the salt/fixative agent solution and should mix it again every time.

Recommendation:
We recommend Synthrapol by Jacquard before, during and after dyeing:
• Pre-wash to remove impregnations or finishes.
• During dyeing, a drop of Synthrapol in the dye liquor takes away the surface tension and allows the dyes to penetrate better.
• After dyeing, Synthrapol removes all free pigments and prevents subsequent discolourations.

• 100g of reactive agent
• 4 x 500ml Tie Dye Squeeze Bottles
• approx 50 rubber bands
• 500ml of dye salt
• 15 ziploc bags
• 4 pairs of latex gloves (S/M/L/XL)
In addition you need:
• white or light coloured textiles (t-shirts, scarves, bed linen, pillow cases...)
• warm water
• 1 large bowl
• 1 wire grid (e.g. cake cooling grid)
• 1 funnel
• string or rubber bands in different sizes
How to tie dye
1. Dissolve the reactive agent and the salt at the same time in a bowl or bucket in approx. 5 liters of warm water.
Lay the textiles for 10 to 20 minutes in this salt/reactive agent bath and then wring them out.
2. While the textiles soak in the reactive agent bath you can fill the content of the dye sachets in the squeeze bottles.
For that purpose, take a dry plastic funnel or make a funnel (for each bottle) from a sheet of paper which you form into a spout and cut off at the tip.
Half fill the squeeze bottles with warm water, close them with the red nozzle and shake well until the dye has completely dissolved. Then fill the bottle with warm water up to the thread, shake again and cut tip of the nozzle off.
3. Either tie up the wet (and wrung out) textiles with string or turn them to spirals and fix them with the rubber bands.
4. Spray die on parts of the tied up textiles front and back.
5. Put every dyed textile in a zip lock bag and close the zipper. Leave for 24 - or better 36 hours in the plastic bag.
6. The next day: rinse the textile out under running water and remove the ties or rubber bands.
7. Wash with mild detergent and let dry.

Batik Set
Wir haben bei euch Batikfarbe zum einfärben von T-Shirts gekauft für einen Kindergeburtstag. Zunächst kam das Paket an und wir mussten feststellen, dass im Paket Süßigkeiten für Kinder enthalten waren. Sowas habe ich vorher noch nie erlebt und es ist eine solch schöne und herzliche Geste. Das war das erste Highlight für die Kinder. Am Kindergeburtstag hatten wir viele Kinder, von denen alle ein T-Shirt gestaltet haben und alle Kinder waren mit großer Freude dabei. Es hat ihnen riesen Spaß gemacht. Das Ergebnis eures Sets war gigantisch. Jedes T-Shirt hat wirklich wahnsinnig toll ausgesehen mit unheimlich kräftigen Farben. Ich bin darauf mehrmals angefragt worden, woher ich das Set habe und kann euch nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen!! Weiter so!!

Super Farbe!!!
Normalerweise schreibe ich keine Bewertung, allerdings mache ich bei diesem Bartik-Set eine Ausnahme. Nachdem ich eine No Name Farbe über ein anderen Shop bestellt habe und ein mehr als schlechtes Ergebnis erhalten habe, wollte ich eigentlich nicht mehr färben. Zumal die Kleidungsstücke ja erst nach den färben zu beurteilen sind und was fast noch schlimmer ist, waren die enttäuschten Kinderaugen…. Dann habe ich aber die Bewertungen zu diesen Set gelesen und wollte es auf ein Versuch ankommen lassen. Und was soll ich sagen…. Super!!!!!! Wir sind begeistert von dem Farbergebnis, auch nach dem waschen!!!! Das einzige ist, die online Anleitung und die mitgelieferte unterscheiden sich, daher bestand leichte Unsicherheiten, was nun richtig ist….. z.B. zur Einweichzeit der Kleidung. Online stand 10-20 Minuten, in der mitgelieferten stand mindestens 20 Minuten. Auch zur Aufbewahrung der Lauge unterscheiden sich die Anleitungen. Zum Glück hat trotzdem alles super geklappt!!!!

Schnelle Lieferung, tolle Farben
Nachdem ein Set aus einem großen Online-Kaufhaus nichts war (die Farben haben nicht gehalten), habe ich das XXL-Set bestellt. Wir haben bestimmt schon 15 Shirts gefärbt und immer noch die Hälfte der Farbe übrig. Ich würde direkt noch mehr Salz und Reaktionsmittel dazu bestellen.

Sehr schöne Farben
Die Farben werden mit dem entsprechenden Zubehör, wie beschrieben werden in einer Schachtel geliefert. Eine genaue Beschreibung wie die Stoffe zu färben sind liegt bei. Damit gelingen sehr schöne verschieden färbige T-Shirts oder Überzüge. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Beratung am Telefon und schneller Versand
Ich hatte keine Ahnung vom Batiken und habe kurzerhand bei Patin-A angerufen. Auf meine Fragen bekam ich kompetente und freundliche Antworten, habe dann eine große Box Zubehör bestellt und freu mich richtig aufs Batiken. Die Süßigkeiten als Polsterung der Ware im Karton haben mich natürlich extra erfreut. :)

Best tie dye kit!
Wanted to make some pride-themed T-shirts and figured, what better way to do it than use a rainbow tie-dye kit?! Tried this out and found it sooooo easy, made a whole bunch of cool shirts. Definitely going ti buy again for the next time we have a parade!

Totaler Farb -Spaß
Es hat mega viel Spaß gemacht. Hier haben hauptsächlich Kinder zwischen 3 und 12 Jahren gebatikt. Einfach in der Handhabung. Die fertigen T-Shirts sind super schön geworden, alle sind total begeistert!! Die Farben richtig intensiv, leuchtend! Ein ganz tolles Set! Wir werden das in jedem Fall wiederholen!!!

Die beste Party
Wir möchten uns für das tolle Set bedanken, dass unsere Geburtstagsparty unvergesslich gemacht hat. Alle haben mitgemacht und viele Shirts geTie-Dyed. Unsere Gäste von 8 bis 60 hatten viel Spass und haben sich über die neuen T-Shirts gefreut. Die Farben sind intensiv und es ist wirklich Kinderleicht.
