Sodium carbonate = additive for indigo dyeing
Sodium carbonate is lightly alkaline and is necessary for indigo vat dyeing. Without sodium hydrosulfite and sodium carbonate (Soda), no indigo dyeing is possible.
Jacquard Soda Ash can also be used as a reactive agent for reactive dyes (e.g. Procion MX).
Sodium hydrosulfite for indigo
In addition to sodium hydrosulfite, you need sodium carbonate for indigo dyeing.
It is added later to the dye vat.
Jacquard Sodium Carbonate is for use with pre-reduced Jacquard Indigo Dye.
1 part pre-reduced Indigo Dye & 2 parts Sodium Hydrosulfite & 4 parts Sodium Carbonate/Soda Ash (use 4 L of water for each 20g of dye).
