Jacquard Neopaque: covers everything, even black

Jacquard Neopaque is super-opaque, on light and dark surfaces alike.
It adheres to fabric, leather, vinyl, plastic, foam, rubber and Worbla, and it does not crack, flake or break, even under constant stress.
No wonder professional sneaker artists and costume designers swear by it.

For costumes, props and sneakers
Neopaque is the all-purpose paint for everything that is to be painted opaque and hard-wearing: costumes made of dark fabrics, leather jackets, belts, bags, foam masks, armour parts made of Worbla and of course sneakers. For sneakers there is also the Neopaque Sneaker Series in matching colours.
What do I use to apply Neopaque?
With brush, stamp, pads, spray bottle or airbrush. For the airbrush, dilute the paint with up to 25% water. Ready-mixed airbrush colours are available as Jacquard Airbrush Color. Wash brushes and tools out immediately after use with warm water.
Making it more transparent without losing adhesion
The best thinner is Neopaque Flowable Extender. The more of it you add, the more transparent the paint becomes. Unlike water, the extender reduces neither body nor adhesion.
Self-fixing
Neopaque fixes by itself. Let the painted pieces cure for about 4 days, after which they are washable. Heat makes it faster. You will find all details in the “Fixing” tab.

Fixing fabric dyes
Note: When using these instructions, please note that they are only general guidelines.
You can use them in conjunction with the individual manufacturer instructions that come with the various fabric paints.
Drying time before fixing:
For best results, let the painted or printed fabric dry thoroughly for at least half an hour. We have found that the longest possible air-curing before heat-setting (up to two weeks!) in a warm, dry environment gives the best results. For faster drying, place the fabric under a lamp and then heat-set it. Heat-setting locks the paint into the fibres and allows normal washing.
Tumble dryer.
We generally do not recommend home tumble dryers, as most do not get hot enough. Commercial dryers set to a minimum temperature of 250° for 45 minutes should be sufficient. Make sure to preheat the dryer.
Fixing with an iron:
When heating with an iron, it is important to note that temperatures vary from iron to iron. If you use an iron, preheat it to the highest temperature that is safe for the fabric. Place aluminium foil on the ironing board with the painted side of the fabric facing down. Press the iron onto the back of the fabric for at least 15 to 25 seconds before moving on to the next area.
Alternatively, you can use a pressing cloth if you feel the need to iron directly on the painted side. Repeat the process without the pressing cloth on the unpainted side at the highest temperature suitable for your fabric (note: a longer air-curing time of 5 to 7 days is recommended with this method).
Professionals only:
Using a commercial conveyor oven: 350° for 3 minutes, two passes if necessary. The fabric should feel hot to set the colours.
NOTE: The optimal time and temperature needed for proper curing depend on the fabric, the coverage, the equipment and in particular the instructions of the various paint manufacturers.
Please do not try this in a domestic oven!
Jacquard Neopaque: Frequently asked questions
Does Neopaque really cover on black?
Yes, that is what Neopaque is made for. For light colours on a very dark surface, it is best to apply two thin layers and let each dry well.
Do I have to iron Neopaque?
No. Neopaque fixes by itself after about 4 days. With heat, for example ironing from the reverse side, it is faster.
Can I use Neopaque on leather?
Yes, Neopaque adheres very well to smooth leather, imitation leather and vinyl. Clean and degrease the leather beforehand.
How do I thin Neopaque?
Best with Neopaque Flowable Extender. For the airbrush you can use up to 25% water.
Does the fabric become stiff?
Neopaque stays elastic and does not break. Because it is opaque, you feel it a little more than a transparent paint. If the fabric is to stay particularly soft, use Jacquard Textile Color.

Super Qualität!
benutze die Farben schon seid Jahren und bin super zufrieden. Ich verkaufe handbemalte Kleidung und habe lange nach der richtigen Farbe gesucht hier habe ich sie gefunden! Danke! Habe sehr zufriedene Kunden! Auch sehr filigrane Motive sind möglich. Für dunkle Stoffe super, da sehr deckend ohne "Pastellig" zu sein. ...und ist die Farbe unbemerkt ausgegangen, schnell bestellen...und Hui ist die Ware geliefert auch ins Eu-Ausland, rasend schnell! Danke!
