GOLDEN GAC 900 Heatset Fabric Painting Medium provides a very soft touch and high washability.
Mix with High Flow Acrylics to obtain "tie dye" effects or with acrylic paints for paint brush or screen printing application.
What is special about GAC 900
GAC 900 is an acrylic polymer developed for fabric and garment applications.
An addition of GAC 900 to the paints gives the painted fabrics a very soft touch and wash resistance after heat setting.
GAC 900 can be mixed with airbrush colours to create "tie dye" effects on pre-wetted material or with GOLDEN Heavy Body, Matte or Fluid Acrylics for brush or screen printing applications. This increases the washability when spraying.
For applications, GAC 900 can be used as a base coat as well as a thin top coat. Optionally, GAC 900 can be applied as a base coating and then heat-set to "seal" the fabric surface before painting.
Create fabric paint
If you want to paint fabrics with ordinary colours, the addition of GAC900 is very important as otherwise the acrylic or water paints will wash out a lot of colour during washing.
The addition of GAC 900 usually is a 1:1 mix. The addition of GAC 900 also helps to dilute paints and to improve penetration ino the fabric.
Heat setting
• Ironing press: according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
• Iron: 3-5 minutes at medium heat on the back of the painted fabric. Delicate fabrics that can only be ironed at low heat require a longer ironing time.
• Oven: for 2-3 minutes at 150°C / 4 minutes at 120°C.
• Laundry dryer: commercial dryer: medium to high temperature for 20-40 minutes. Household dryer: set on highest heat for 40-50 minutes.
Fixing of PATIN-A distressings
Spray a fine coat of GAC900 on your distressed piece and let the finish dry (for spraying use YouCan, Preval Spray System or an Airbrush).
Then activate the fixation with an iron, hot air dryer or in the oven.
The treatment with GAC 900 is only partly wash fast. However the distressing will resist rain, snow and strong movements.
Tip for finest paintings on fabrics:
For very detailed fabric work it is very helpful to apply a base coat of GAC 900 and then to press hot. This creates a smooth painting surface compared to the relatively uneven fabric pile. The airbrush is used in many cases to achieve soft colour gradations like for portraits. These layers of paint are often incomplete and even with a layer of GAC 900 as a base the colour may tend to peel off. A top coat of GAC 900, followed by another hot press, should produce a smooth surface and a soft, easily washable touch.
Please note: Ensure sufficient ventilation during heat setting with GAC 900 as this will release small amounts of formaldehyde.

Vorbereitung der Oberfläche:
Alle Oberflächen müssen sauber sein.
Stoffe müssen gewaschen und Schmutz, Wachs, Beschichtungen und Pflegemittel von Leder entfernt.
Nicht poröse Oberflächen, wie Metall und Kunststoff, müssen eventuell leicht geschliffen werden. Bei blankem Metall kann eine Grundierung erforderlich sein.
Für eine lange Lebensdauer muss auf harten Oberflächen die Airbrushfarbe mit einem Klarlack überlackiert werden.
Anwendung:
In leichten, gleichmäßigen Schichten auftragen. Vermeiden Sie eine Übersättigung der Oberfläche.
Verwenden Sie einen Druck von ca. 40 psi und die Düsengröße sollte nicht weniger als 0,5 mm betragen.
Die Farben sind untereinander mischbar, damit Sie eine komplette Farbpalette erhalten.
Auf harten Oberflächen können Sie die hitzebeständige Farbe mit einer Heißluftpistole fixieren. Stoff wird zur Fixierung mit einem trockenen Bügeleisen bei entsprechender Einstellung für 30 Sekunden gebügelt.
Lackieranweisungen (optional): Nachdem die Airbrushfarbe vollständig getrocknet ist, sprühen Sie den Klarlack in einer dünnen, gleichmäßigen Schicht auf. Wiederholen Sie dies (wenn gewünscht) nachdem die erste Schicht gründlich getrocknet ist.
Tipps für Airbrush
• Bevor Sie mit Ihrer Airbrusharbeit beginnen, überprüfen Sie, ob Ihre gesamte Ausrüstung ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Prüfen Sie, ob die Nadel oder Düse verbogen ist und tauschen Sie sie gegebenenfalls aus. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Kompressor richtig funktioniert und der Luftdruck passend eingestellt ist.
• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie die richtige Düsengröße verwenden, insbesondere bei den Metallicfarben.
• Lassen Sie die Farben nicht zu lange unbenutzt in der Airbrush stehen, damit die Farbe nicht in der Airbrush trocknet. - Setzen Sie bei Nichtgebrauch Verschlüsse auf die Flaschen, damit sie nicht austrocknen.
• Verdünnen Sie die Farben mit Wasser, wenn Sie eine dünnere Farbe benötigen.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie Ihre Ausrüstung gründlich reinigen sobald Sie fertig sind.
• Transparente Farben eignen sich am besten auf weißen und hellen Oberflächen.
• Deckfarben und Metallicfarben funktionieren sowohl auf hellen als auch auf dunklen Oberflächen.

Perfekt
Ich benötigte für ein Kunstprojekt eine sehr große Menge Stofffarbe. Stofffarben gibt es meist nur in wenigen Farbtönen und außerdem sehr teuer. Mit Acrylfarbe und GAC900 habe ich mir selbst Farbe hergestellt und bin vom Ergebnis sehr begeistert. Die Auswahl an besonderen Produkte ist bei Patin-a unglaublich. Bin sehr gespannt was sie wieder als nächstes anbieten werden.

Hervorragendes Produkt
Ich kannte GAC Produkte bisher nicht und habe GAC 900 hier bestellt um es mal auszuprobieren. Als Fixativ für z.B. PATIN-POWDER ist es ausgesprochen gut. Das Powder fällt normalerweise sehr schnell aus dem Kostüm und mit der Fixierung kann ich das Kostüm sogar waschen. Ich habe es auch mit PATIN-SNOW getestet: Der PATIN-SNOW klebt damit sehr gut am Stoff und ploppt auch gut auf. Allerdings habe ich das GAC mit etwas Wasser verdünnt. Ich werde weiterhin testen und mich garantiert nochmals melden :-) Das Produkt bekommt jetzt bereits von mir 10 Sterne!
