Smooth and fortify leather edges with Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth
Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth is a natural, liquid gum with which you can create a smooth, shiny, colourless and very resistant leather edge.
Rough and crumbling leather edges and sides are being perfectly smoothed with Gum Tragacanth - surfaces of cut edges and outer edges will come out in a professional, even and supple look.
Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth is a very popular product too with many saddlers and fine bags makers who use it to even the rough and fraying reverse sides of the leather.
Achieving a perfect application
Apply Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth with a sponge, brush or wool dauber and then gently rub it in, mold and polish it using a polishing disc, a curved bone folder or an edge smoother.
If you're not fully satisfied with the first result, just repeat as often as needed.
You will achieve best results if you have previously made the leather edge round or beveled it with an edge planer.
