Dypro dyeing instructions

INSTRUCTIONS FOR HAND DYEING

Wear rubber gloves

1. Weigh the dry textiles. Wash the dry textiles (without softener). The textiles to be dyed must be completely wet.
2. Fill a rustproof container with hot water so that the textile to be dyed is completely covered with water and can easily be moved during dyeing.
3. Dissolve the dye in 500ml of hot water and pour the solution in the dye container.
4. Add 60g of salt per 500g of fabric and mix well.
5. Put the wet and unfolded textile in the dye solution. Immerse it completely into the solution and heat the dye solution to 80°C respectively 95°C depending on the type of fabric. Now dye the textile for 20 minutes while stirring constantly and maintaining the temperature.
6. Rinse the textile until the water is clear.
7. When drying avoid sunlight and direct heat (do not tumble dry).
8. Wash dyed textiles separately.

DYE IN THE WASHING MACHINE

Not for wool and silk
Dye at least 500g of fabric. Load the washing machine maximally up to the half. Do not select eco program.
Wear rubber gloves.

1. Weigh the dry textiles. Wash the dry textiles (without softener). The textiles to be dyed must be completely wet.
2. Select the longest and warmest washing program without pre-wash (at least 80°C).
3. Add 500g of salt per wash load and fill the salt directly into the drum or dissolve it first and pour the solution in the washing powder compartment.
4. Dissolve the dye in approx. 1 liter of hot water and pour it carefully after 5 minutes in the washing powder compartment.
5. For drying avoid sunlight and direct heat (do not tumble dry).
6. Cleaning of the washing machine: you can either wash dark clothes once or make an empty wash at 95°C.
7. Wash dyed textiles separately.

DYEING INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOL & SILK

 Avoid temperature variations!
 Wear rubber gloves.
 Instead of salt take 250g of vinegar!

5. Put the wet and unfolded textile in the dye solution. Stir gently while bringing to the boil, then reduce the heat slowly. 
6. Stir gently for another 10 minutes. 
7. Take the textile carefully out of the dye bath, allow to cool completely and rinse with lukewarm water until the water is clear.
8. When drying avoid sunlight and direct heat (do not tumble dry).
9. Wash dyed textiles separately.

DYE BUTTONS AND PLASTIC OBJECTS

For all plastic materials including polyester.
Wear rubber gloves

1. For 125g of plastic objects dissolve 5g of dye in 500ml of boiling water (for dark colours 10g of dye).
2. Pour the dissolved dye into 2 litres of 80°C hot water.
3. Now put the plastic objects in the dye liquor.
BEWARE:
All objects have to be completely covered with the dye solution.
4. Bring the dye liquor to a boil and dye the objects for 10 to 60 minutes at 80°C (for dark colours we recommend dyeing for at least an hour).
5. Rinsing same as for textiles.
6. During the dyeing process, the objects to be dyed should be moved and checked regularly to avoid irregularities.

For 500g of fabric you need these dye quantities:
16g - Ebony Black
12g - Havanna Brown, Coffee, Navy
10g - Old Gold, Golden Glow, Pagoda Red, Bordeaux, Rose of Paris, Windsor Purple, Madonna Blue, Deep Blue, Elephant Grey, Reindeer Beige, Emerald, Jungle Green, Tangerine, Scarlet, Kingfisher, Desert Dust, Cerise, Olive Green, Arabian Night, Cherry Flame
