Dypro has developed a pure black for dyeing 3D prints.
Dypro 3D Black dyes 'polyamide / nylon PA 12' a deep black.
3D printers have been using Dylon and Dypro Universal Color Textile Dyes for many years for easy and intense dyeing of print parts in bright colours. You can pick from a colour palette of 24 shades.
• Use the stove top method and dye in a pot, a self-heating mulled wine pot or a professional dye bath. Absolutely not in the washing machine!
• Do not use enamel pots if you want to prepare meals in them later. We recommend stainless steel pots.
• Take enough water to just cover your 3D print.
• You need at least 10 grams of dye per liter of water (1/2 liter of water = 5g of Dypro dye).
• Contrary to textiles you do not need salt or fixative for dyeing 3D prints.
1. Dissolve the required amount of dye in boiling water (e.g. 5g of dye with 500ml of water).
2. Place the object / the objects in the dye pot and fill in the dye liquor.
3. Heat the dye liquor up to 85° C (simmer). You should plan a dye time of at least 10 minutes. Or more, if the colour depth is not reached yet.
4. Rinse the dyed objects under running water until the water is clear.
5. A fresh dye solution should be used for every batch.
A selection of 24 brilliant colour tones can be found in our shop at Dypro Universal Color Textile Dyes.
These dyes have been known among professionals for many years and they dye polyamide (nylon 12) in beautiful and intensive shades.
You do not need a fixative.
