Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow: applies like paint, works like dyeing
A fabric paint that behaves like a textile dye? That is exactly what Dye-Na-Flow.
It is so thin that it spreads out on the fabric and soaks deep into the fibre instead of sitting on top.
The result: brilliant, washfast colours, and the fabric stays as soft as before.
No hard patches, no flaking, no bleeding.
Perfect for silk painting, watercolour effects, colour gradients and everywhere that real dyeing would be too much effort.
At a glance
• Highly pigmented, highly transparent liquid fabric paint, 67 ml, 236 ml or 946 ml
• 30 shades, mixable with each other and dilutable with water
• Soaks into the fibre like a dye
• Fabric stays soft, no flaking, no bleeding
• For natural and synthetic fibres, leather, suede, wood, paper and more
• With brush, sponge, dabber or airbrush
• Fix with an iron, in the oven or with Jacquard Airfix
What can I paint?
• All natural and synthetic fibres: cotton, linen, silk, viscose, polyester, velvet and more
• Smooth leather, imitation leather and suede
• Wood, paper, clay and canvas
Dye-Na-Flow even works as a wood stain.
Painting like dyeing
Because Dye-Na-Flow spreads freely on the fabric, beautiful soft transitions and watercolour effects result, ideal for silk scarves, costumes with colour gradients and stage backdrops. If you want sharp lines instead, first apply Jacquard No-Flow, and the colour stays exactly where you put it.
Dyeing suede
Suede can also be dyed very well with Dye-Na-Flow, because the highly pigmented colour penetrates the leather nicely. Suede, however, can be neither varnished nor fixed with an iron. So mix Jacquard Airfix into the colour: 5 ml Airfix to 95 ml colour. The colour then fixes as it dries in the air.
Prefer opaque?
Dye-Na-Flow is transparent and looks best on light fabrics. For soft, somewhat thicker colour, use Jacquard Textile Color, for dark fabrics the opaque Jacquard Neopaque.

Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow: Fixing
Fixing fabric dyes
Note: Please note when using these instructions that they are general guidelines only. You can use them in conjunction with the individual manufacturer's instructions supplied with the various fabric dyes.
Drying time before fixing:
For best results, let the painted or printed fabric dry well for at least half an hour. We have found that the longest possible air-curing before heat-setting (up to two weeks!) in a warm, dry environment gives the best results. For faster drying, place the fabric under a lamp and then heat-set it. Heat-setting locks the colour into the fibres and allows normal washing. Tumble dryer. We generally do not recommend home tumble dryers, as most do not get hot enough. Commercial dryers set to a minimum temperature of 250° for 45 minutes should be sufficient. Make sure to preheat the dryer.
Fixing with an iron:
When heating with an iron, it is important to note that temperatures vary from iron to iron. If you use an iron, preheat it to the highest temperature that is safe for the fabric. Place aluminium foil on the ironing board with the painted side of the fabric facing down. Press the iron onto the back of the fabric for at least 15 to 25 seconds before moving on to the next area. Alternatively, you can use a pressing cloth if you feel the need to iron directly on the painted side. Repeat the process without the pressing cloth on the unpainted side at the highest temperature suitable for your fabric (note: a longer air-curing time of 5 to 7 days is recommended with this method).
Professionals only:
Using a commercial conveyor oven: 350° for 3 minutes, if necessary two passes. The fabric should feel hot to set the colours. NOTE: The optimum time and temperature needed for proper curing depend on the fabric, the colour intensity, the equipment and especially the instructions of the various dye manufacturers. Please do not try this in a home oven!
Jacquard Dye-Na-Flow: Frequently asked questions
Is Dye-Na-Flow a paint or a dye?
Technically it is a liquid acrylic paint. But it behaves like a dye: it soaks into the fibre instead of lying on the surface. That is why the fabric stays soft.
How do I fix Dye-Na-Flow?
After drying, iron from the reverse side for 3 minutes at the highest temperature permitted for the fabric, with a cloth or baking paper in between. Alternatively in the oven at 140 °C for 5 minutes. For heat-sensitive materials, mix Jacquard Airfix into the colour.
The colour runs too much. What can I do?
First apply Jacquard No-Flow. Then the lines stay sharp.
Can I dilute Dye-Na-Flow?
Yes, no problem with water. This makes the colours even more delicate.
Does the colour work on dark fabrics?
Hardly, because it is transparent. For dark fabrics, use Jacquard Neopaque.

Bi.

Very Happy customer
I ordered some products to test and see if we like them at our costume-departement.
I tried Dynaflow instead of Sprila, that we normally use for fabrics in our distress-shop.
So far it seems like a very good substitute-product.
The shipping cost was fair and the delivery super-fast. I really recommend this shop and Will order again soon.
