Super tool for buttoning
With this button threader (also called: buttoning aid or button hook) you can very quickly and easily close even the smallest buttons on garments.
Especially with historical costumes, the buttonholes are often tiny and so are the buttons that go with them.
The small wire loop on the wooden handle saves a lot of time and buttoning becomes child's play.
No set bag should be without a buttoning aid!
How is the button threader used?
The button threader has a solid wooden handle and is comfortable to hold.
A wire loop of thin, stiff wire protrudes from the handle and is about 5 to 6cm long.
The wire is oval shaped and the button is held with the pointed end.
The wire loop is pushed through the buttonhole from the front and placed under the button.
The handle is pulled back slightly so that the threads with which the button has been sewn on are held in the narrowest part of the wire loop.
The button now lies securely on the wire of the button threader and can be pulled through the buttonhole.
Try it out - it takes a few tries until you master the tool perfectly. But then you won't want to miss it any more!
