Stops bleaching - immediately!
With Bleach-Stop you can immediately stop the bleaching action of household bleach (like e.g. Eau de Javel).
Bleach continues to work if you only rinse it with water!
If you add Bleach-Stop to your rinse, you will achieve better results.
What amount of Bleach-Stop do I need to neutralise?
Add 30 gramm of Bleach-Stop to approx. 4 litres of warm water and move the garment for 15 minutes in this solution.
Bleach-Stop (Sodium Thiosulfate) is also known as antichlor and is used in many areas:
e.g. in photography as fixing salt, in mining to extract silver chloride from silver ores and in electroplating to produce gold and silver baths. In medicine it is used as an antidote for cyanide poisoning, forming the less dangerous thiocyanate.
Bleaching of cellulose or protein fibres - what do I have to keep in mind?
Bleach is a very strong oxidant that can aggressively damage many types of fibres.
Bleach destroys proteins - the main components of silk and wool!
Only use bleach very carefully on protein fibres, or rather use another product that cannot cause any damage.
The advantage of bleach is that you can remove a much bigger number of colorants than with the safer reducing agents (e.g. Thiourea Dioxide or decolourising paste).
For best results, the bleach should be diluted with water so that it does not simply burn through the fabric.
After that, it is essential that it is neutralised with Bleach-Stop to stop the effect (once the desired or maximum results have been reached).
However, if the tests show that the bleach is only effective undiluted, take extra care - watch the process constantly (that should only take a few minutes!). Rinse and neutralise the bleach immediately with Bleach-Stop as soon as the desired result has been achieved.
