Sealing with Acrylic Resolene
Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene lacquer is a thin, flexible, durable and water-repellent leather top finish for smooth leather for sealing the surface of dyed, aged (patinated) or polished leather.
You know the finish as the surface lacquering of high-quality shoes or handbags.
At a glance
• Thin, flexible, durable and water-repellent top finish for smooth leather
• Seals dyed, patinated or polished leather
• Apply in thin coats, at least 3 coats
• Bluish when wet, colourless and clear when dry
• Result medium (satin-matt) to high gloss, depending on the amount applied
• Bottles with 118 ml or 946 ml
Applying the Resolene lacquer
• For a perfect result, Acrylic Resolene must be applied in thin coats (at least 3 coats). It is best to do this with a damp sponge in circular movements to avoid smears and streaks.
• Dip the sponge into the Resolene and squeeze it out very firmly. The sponge must not “drip”.
• Before the next coat is applied, the previous one should have dried.
• Please do not apply too much Resolene in each pass: otherwise small bubbles form, which burst during drying and create rings in the dried lacquer.
• When wet, the neutral Resolene looks bluish. When dry, it is guaranteed to be colourless and clear, so don't panic!
• Depending on the amount applied, the result is medium (satin-matt) to high gloss.
What can I do if my leather is rubbing off colour?
Sometimes purchased leather goods rub off colour. You can stop the colour transfer with Acrylic Resolene lacquer.
However, you should first remove dirt and the existing finish (with a finish remover) so that the Resolene finish can adhere to the leather. We recommend PURE 100%, Fiebing's Deglazer or ROC Gold Quality.
Goes with
• PURE 100%, Fiebing's Deglazer and ROC Gold Quality for removing the old finish
• Fiebing's leather dyes, which Resolene seals particularly well

Super Schutzlackschicht!
